Tropical storm Ida hits Southern USA today.

The storm caused a power outage, shutting down about a third of natural gas production, and along with minor damage. Most people say it wasn't TOO bad compared to the other storms/hurricanes that have experienced in the past. However it caused many indirect deaths in El Savador from flooding and landslides, back then when Ida had hurricane status.

A major earthquake strikes again ...

near the islands of Indonesia. This caused major destruction and a considerable death toll. More details in the link.

A tsunami has struck near American Samoa ...

more than ten people died during the disaster. The earthquake's magnitude is about 8.3 and residents flee to higher grounds to avoid the wrath of an incoming tsunami.
